CORPORATE – THE EXECUTIVES
Eddie Freeman - Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, Eddie is responsible for the management of all port activities with particular emphasis on the commercial and marketing functions.
With a background in engineering, Eddie has spent the last 30 years in senior positions within the port's sector at home and abroad. Before joining Great Yarmouth Port Company Limited, he was the Managing Director of the Humber Sea Terminal and a Board member of Simon Group Plc during which time he led the team responsible for creating and establishing the highly sucessful Humber Sea Terminal.
Pat McNamara – Harbour Master
The Harbour Master's role is centred on the conservancy function and the maintenance of the Company's navigation, plus associated responsibilities for the implementation of safety regimes and the marine environmental management.
Pat followed a career in the Merchant Navy on a variety of ships from 900 to 230.000 tonnes up to the rank of Ship's Master before commencing shore employment in 1980. He spent a short period with HM Coastguard before entering the ports industry.
Pat has been Harbour Master at Great Yarmouth since 2002.
Richard Goffin – Finance Manager
The Finance Manager’s role is focused on providing management account services to support the present port operations as well as playing a key part in the strategic development of the new outer harbour infrastructure.
Appointed in December 2008, Richard has over 11 years accounting experience with small and large businesses, including most recently Unilever Plc., R.B.S. and private equity owned Birds Eye Foods.
Steve Harley – Operations Manager
The Operations Manager is responsible for the coordination of all operational activities within the port including berthing, cargo operations, resource management and deployment, port security and storage.
Appointed in December 2008, Steve has over 18 years of operational experience, mainly focussed on large container port disciplines, but also and more latterly on temperature controlled palletised cargo and storage as well as conventional cargo operations and operational sub contract labour supply.
Roger Lewin – General Sales Manager
The General Sales Manager is responsible for the promotion of the port to a wide range of potential users and customers. The G.S.M. also ensures that existing customers experience the level of service expected of a modern, multi-purpose port.
Roger has worked in the industry for many years, both in business development and general management and has wide ranging experience of cargo movements, both unitised and conventional.
